Week 1: Read52 Books in 52 Weeks

 Week 1:

Title: From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler

Author: E.L Konigsberg

Pages: 162

Published: 1967

Started: 1/1/24

Finished: 1/6/24

Summary: Claudia Kincaid decides to runaway with her brother after feeling ignored to teach her parents a lesson. She runs to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. There, they have adventures and find themselves taking part in a mystery.

My thoughts: This was my favorite book as a child and first time I’ve read it in 30 years. And it’s still as wonderful as it was when I read it as a child. Writing is lyrical, the characters are multifaceted which is incredible for characters who are children. The writer makes the kids relatable and the brother-sister relationship genuine. The kids sound and act like kids without being annoying. I love this book.
